I've got a 'show more bookmarks' option with a double arrow at far, right end of bookmarks bar. How do I add that to my FF on my new computer?

more options

A couple years (?) back I was able to use an option to add some extra bookmarks to an area next to the scroller at the far right, simply by clicking on a double arrow symbol (pointing to the right) placed immediately below the menu button. It was conveniently used for quicker storage and access without going to the trouble of placing it in my bookmarks tab. I can't find that option anywhere now after I've installed an up-to-date version of FF on a new computer. Both new and older computer are Windows 10 and version 55.0.2

Chosen solution

When you add more bookmarks than fit on the Bookmarks Toolbar then items that do not fit should automatically be moved to this overflow area and the chevron should appear.

Isn't this happening in your case?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

This may help you;

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multirow-bookmarks-toolbarplus/ Multirow Bookmarks Toolbar Plus] {web link} Display your Bookmarks Toolbar in more than one row! Be smart about hiding text and only showing favicons, displaying website info as tooltips. Auto hide the Bookmarks Toolbar.

Multirow looks messy...I wouldn't use it.

Thank you, cor-el...that did it. I'd forgotten that the chevron appears when the bookmarks bar overflows. Sweet!
