i would like to stop the integration message opening when i start Thunderbird.

I think a simpler method of wording instead of "set as default" which is ambiguous as to whether it refers to completion of the box as being the default ((OK) or the the items it refers to as being the default settings, or perhaps both.

I believe that people who write programs for the general public to use should always remember that computer jargon is totally confusing and frightening. There are more people out there that we are having to switch to Thunderbird as Windows Live dies.

There is an old phrase " KISS"

PS I assist companies and people with their computer problems so I am familiar their hassles.
