I've been on that page numerous of times, and it downloads the newer version of Firefox instead of †he old

Once i'm in that long list, I'm completely lost on what to pick and what to actually do. What file name am I aiming for, were do i find the file to install the older one back on etc

I have clicked on a few and none have an option to install. Unless I'm doing it wrong.

I have already done that and it's still downloading the 50.0 version, even though the file says 49.0

To actually answer the question. Firefox Releases starting 49.0 and later no longer supports OSX 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 as you need 10.9 or later.

If you cannot use OSX 10.9 then your only option for Firefox with security updates for a while still is to use the Firefox 45 ESR which is based on Firefox 45.0 Release but with allowed security and stability fixes since..

Firefox 45.5.0esr came out when Firefox 50.0.2 was Released. Firefox 45.8.0 esr will be out when Firefox 53.0 is released and will be the last unless Mozilla extends support for Firefox 45 ESR.

Fred do note the OSX version the poster has which is OSX 10.6.8 as Firefox 49 will not work. You also can Edit your own posts.
