Whilst refreshing I get the following message when I try to use Firefox:

Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible

I deleted and downloaded Firefox, but I still receive the same message. I found out where my profile is, but I don't know what to do with it. No matter what I do, when I download it the icon appears with the above message, then disappears when I click on it.

Help!!

Hi Vezz, sorry to hear about this problem. The Refresh might have been interrupted before it could create and transfer data into your new profile folder.

To get Firefox up and running, you can create a basic profile (i.e., not customized) and then explore around for your old data. This article has the steps to use Firefox's Profile Manager to create a new profile. Please do not customize the location, just skip over the option to select the location and let Firefox place it in the normal spot.

Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles

Can you get Firefox up and running in a new profile as the first step?

Thanks JSHER2000, I can now open Firefox!

I found my old profile and copied it to my new one, but it doesn't seem to work. How do I make it work?

First; open your file browser to the New profile;

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Second, open the file browser to the Old profile.

Open another file browser to the Old Firefox folder on your desktop. Then open the folder with the latest date.
