This is the only site I have problems with. I tried all the mambo jumbo that is suggested (the changes in about:config, deleting the cert8) but nothing worked. I looked into my antivirus - avast - deactivated the encrypt https but that didn't solve it either. Whether I try https or simple http - same message. I definitely had it last month but not September when I booked, checked in with no problems - if that's any clue as to what is f**ked up. Yesterday, after I forced my computer to start using F8, use older version of system - it magically "saw" the site which allowed me to book & pay my tickets for an upcoming trip, but nevertheless this is annoying as hell.

I know my comp def. needs a checkup incl. both soft - and probably hardware but I'm ahead of a PhD defense and I literally can't do this checkup now.

Any ideas much appreciated ;) [ with a step by step aka "reset your system 4 dummies" list much appreciated.

the page states nothing more than below:

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

I get a weak encryption warning (attached screenshot). It's only a warning for me, not a block. If you manually adjusted any security settings, or if an add-on or external program modified the settings, that might explain why your Firefox is stricter than mine. (Assuming this is not a "man in the middle" problem.)

Could you describe the following in a little more detail -- did you use System Restore to an earlier date?

So it sounds as though you rolled forward again.

Could you check whether Firefox's web console provides any additional information about the error. You can open the web console in the lower part of the tab using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+k
  • "3-bar" menu button > Developer > Web Console
  • (menu bar) Tools > Web Developer > Web Console

Then reload the problem page and check for any new messages in the console that might provide more detail about the connection problem. Anything?

Yes, I've got sth similar: the TLS is 1.2. I changed it to default settings in about:config (1 for minimum, 3 for max), restarted FF but no result.

Any other ideas?

thx a lot

Maybe you've discovered this by now, but...

I tested on a different system and got a green lock. I tested on this system again and still got the broken lock. So I deleted all the site cookies (there's a button for this in the Page Info dialog, Security panel), then reloaded the site using Ctrl+Shift+r to bypass the cache and... green lock!

So I think the site updated something but you may need to clear the site's cookies to trigger it.

This is really bizzare. There are times when I can log onto the page with no problems (like 1 in 10 tries) but that varies.

I get a green lock all the time, so that's not my case. No idea what could cause the problem. As I listed above, all other sites including bank ones work fine.

As for now, the site is working. It seems to be somehow vulnerable to my internet connection.

I deleted avast and got a new antivirus, but that didn't solve the problem either.

Anyway, this will probably have to remain a mystery.

Thx 4 all the tips everybody ;)
