I gave my son my PC and he sees everything I do on my MAC. How can I disable sync only to the PC and not bother my IPad.

Hi glassworker, If you still have access to the old PC then turn off sync on that. You can also reset sync by using a new password and start again with a new password and then connect only your iPad but not what is now your Son's PC.
