Need Help All My Plugins Are Missing and Don't Work

more options

After going through many different guides on Modzilla, I still can't figure out how to get these working.

After updating to Version 47.0.0 and now 47.0.1 in Firefox, none of my Plugins work or are missing,

Adobe Flash Player is missing and won't install.

Microsoft Silverlight was available but when checking for updates, it said it was up to date but when going to Microsoft site It was out of date, so after updating, and restarting Firefox that plugin was also no longer available.

Currently using windows 10, 64bit with Firefox version 47.0.1

Microsoft edge has flash player installed and working but really hate using that browser, always been a Fan of Firefox.

I've completely removed Firefox and cleared all data and restarted my computer, installed a new copy and had to re-install bookmarks and stuff, but still have the same problem, after downloading the plugins they don't work on Firefox.

I have Kaspersky security installed and thought it might be the security software, but the settings have not changed and the programs have access to run and connect to the internet.

Any help would be great, also if there is a Free and Safe Alternative to flash player, that would be great if anyone knows any.

  • Could the registry need editing to remove any old data from previous Firefox?

Chosen solution

Okay I fixed it, turns out it was the Security, Kaspersky is one very over protective system,

I’ll leave a small guide just in case anyone else has the same trouble.

I uninstalled all the plugins from add/remove programs, then did a search for any leftover folders and deleted them, restarted the system.

Downloaded the plugins, then before installing when into Kaspersky settings, looks like a little wheel in the bottom left of the menu, click on protection then temporary disable the following.

Application control – monitors application, when turned off also turns off webcam access. Web Anti virus. System control settings – controls system changes.

Make sure Firefox is closed before installing the plugins, after installing check to see if they appear in the list and are up to date. After installing all plugins turn back on all the settings. Simples :-)
