My husband AlanDavidLewis died last year, and I would now like to use the same account to set up my own email service.

I do not want to close his account, as I am still reading emails coming in which need me to respond.

What shall I do? I have looked around your website, and could not find info.

You do not really create accounts with Thunderbird. Rather, Thunderbird uses accounts that you (or others) have created with mail service providers. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-faq#w_what-is-my-thunderbird-email-address

You can continue using any mail accounts were in your husbands name as long as you know the account password. If you do not know the account password you will need to contact the mail provider.

Does that help?
