Change default settings for all users on Firefox 46

more options

I need to setup Firefox 46 for multiple users in an Enterprise environment, some on physical PC's and some using VMWare thinapps on virtual desktops. All of them need to have standardised proxy settings, homepage and a few other settings. With newer versions of Firefox (anything after v.36) I have not been able to get these settings to capture on thinapp, and the settings are not applied to other users profiles on the physical PC's, even if this is their first login on the PC. Via searches on the web I have found various suggestions of how to do this, but none of them seem to work on Firefox version 46 or higher. We are running on Windows 7 (mostly 64bit, but a few 32bit physical PC's). Can anyone offer any advice on how to do this? Thanks

hi DeltaBravo783, unfortunately this has been a deliberate change in firefox 46 (see bug 1234012). the two workarounds that are recommended at the moment is using the addon from https://mike.kaply.com/cck2/ or using the 45.1.1esr version which doesn't ship with this change for the next couple of months and is still supplied with security updates: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/faq/

Thank you for the information PhillipP. I'll give the CCK2 a try and see how I get on - unfortunately using an older version of Firefox is not an option for my employer.
