The update window incessantly keeps popping up prompting me to update version 43... I want it to stop...

You should update to Firefox 44, Firefox 42 is no longer supported and is insecure.

Tyler I understand that as an administrator you would make this recommendation. The problem is, I want the control over what my browser does and, although I like many of the features FF provides, I don't like it when FF takes from me the ability to use an extension or add-in that is important to the work I do. For that reason I want a way to STOP THE incessant "reminders" that there is a new version available. If I want it I will look for and install it without my arm being twisted. Please leave my computer and my FF version as is! I will let you know when I need your help. Thank you
