I love site launcher but I'm wondering if it differs from speed dial. If so, any comments on preferences would be appreciated.

Addons are developed and maintained by third party developers. Therefore, Mozilla cannot provide support for these addons.

However, just by reading the features on the addon pages, SiteLauncher looks like it is highly functional for keyboard shortcuts and SpeedDials seem to be just a new tab page.
