On my latest phone (umi emax) Firefox crashes every time it tries to sync. Is there a solution to this without disabling sync? It is a very useful feature and one of the main reasons I use Firefox in the first place

Any help will be much appreciated.

What kind of device are you using? There is an attached bug that is affecting 64bit android devices "MediaTek 67xx" in the bug tagged to the thread. Visit bugzilla.mozilla.org with that bug reference for more context. However we can continue to troubleshoot here.

I might suggest to toggle the preferences that are synced to see if we can find what might be causing the sync crash or be able to minimize if its a space issue( I do not think that it is however)

The phone does indeed run a Media Tek 6752 processor. Pretty sure it's not a space issue, but I will try disabling specific sync options if you think that might help.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for trying, but I already know how to use sync. It is just that it causes Firefox on this particular device to crash.
