Did Mozilla send out a Firefox patch today (11/07/15) Version 8.0.0.2 size 340k?
Now I can't delete it from Downloads folder. Avast! didn't report on it.

No the current version is still the Firefox 42.0 that was released on Nov 3rd.
Mozilla does updates in Firefox whether on Windows, Mac OSX or Linux (by way of a .mar file) or by download from mozilla.org
A Firefox update would not have a version like 8.0.0.2 nor would it be a .exe file.

What happens when you try to remove that fire?
Start your Computer in safe mode.
Removed patch file in Safe Mode from both Downloads and Recycle Bin folders. Back to normal, I hope. Thanks everyone!
