The only thing that gets changed is how you access the web.

It might be best to clear the cache and cookies to prevent possible issues caused by a change in IP address.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies":
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If you have given a lot of people an email address in the form myname@comcast.net, you should check with Comcast about how long you can keep using that address after ending your service, and make sure to get a copy of all your mail from their server before you get cut off.
Regarding Comcast email, apparently they cut you off from browser-based access immediately when you cancel your account, or at the end of your period of paid service, but stand-alone mail clients might be able to use the address for 30 days or up to 90 days. There is some confusion. After that, someone else could get your email address, so you definitely wouldn't want to delay in letting your friends and family know your new address.
Thanks for the advise friends appreciate it.
