So I noticed a problem after I had uninstalled and hidden the above mentioned update for W7 KB2670838. In that text (Or font rendering) on certain websites was displaying with very thin, and what seems to be some kind of auto settings for a different subpixel arrangement than my monitor.. The results are very ugly to say the least.

Now, why have this update uninstalled? The reason is this update makes changes to the DXGI API that causes a number of stability problems with quite a few games that use this API (DXGI -DX10/11). More commonly seeming to affect DX10 games. I think it makes changes to Direct2D as well > https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2670838

An unfortunate side effect of removing this seems to have messed up hardware acceleration of some sort.

Here is an uncompressed comparison to showcase the differences http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/135641

Is it possible this can be fixed at all?

Thank you very much.

Did you check if the same font is being used?

You can check the font used for selected text in the Font tab in the right pane of the Inspector.

Does is has effect if you disable hardware acceleration in Firefox?

As I mentioned. Disabling Hardware Acceleration fixes the problem.
