How do I set my homepage to load when I click the newtab button?

more options

When I updated to Firefox 42.0a1 (2015-06-30) I seem to have lost my ability to set my own newtab page, and all I am seeing is the 6 sites that Firefox wants me to visit or thinks I visit most.

It is much better for me to set my own page for this, and this method of setting my own page in the about:config browser.newtab.url field has worked for me well for the past years...

How can I get my own custom URL back when I click the newtab button?

Thanks, but I'm not seeing how to change that on my Linux computer back to the page I wanted. Thank you for the link, however, because that shows me what happened.

I wonder if enough people will complain and get it changed back?
