Foxfire tends to autoselect whenever I leave the cursor over an active button. This is usually exactly what I do not want to do and is ruining my experience of what looks like an otherwise solid product. Friends have told me that I must have the "disability" option set on, but I don't see the option. While this might be a good option to make available to someone who has trouble with mouse clicking, it has created a nightmare for me. I don't want anything selected unless I actually click on it. Thanks for providing a way to for me to communicate with your company. I suspect that there is an easy resolution o this problem, I just don't see it. Thanks again, Ed

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can try to use another mouse in case there is a hardware problem with the mouse you currently use.

If you are using a mouse pad, many of them will send a signal to the mouse even if you did not touch the pad. Disable the pad.

I greatly appreciate your attempt to help me. I am running on a new hp 15.6 laptop, with an i3 processor and I'm using the built-in touchpad for navigation. I use the touchscreen for navigation sometimes, but not as often as the touchpad. I hope that there is a solution to this problem less drastic than disabling the touchpad. Thanks again for your help, Ed

Disable the pad for a short time. Is the problem still there?

If the problem is the pad, there is nothing anyone but the creator can do about this issue.

Have you thought of getting a mouse?
