You could try this location (AppData is hidden):

  • %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Desktop Background.bmp

Do you mean a Windows wallpaper or a lightweight theme (Persona) in Firefox that covers the user interface area?

Firefox only stores the header and footer image files of the currently selected Persona in the profile folder. The image files of other installed Personas are loaded from the server when you select a different Persona via "Add-ons > Appearance". If the image files are missing or can't be retrieved then you only see the text and background colors as specified in the data of the Persona.

Firefox places Persona images as lightweighttheme-header and lightweighttheme-footer in the Firefox profile folder (xxxxxxxx.default). The images will be resized and copied to the lwtheme folder and you need to delete the files in this folder to make Firefox use a new Persona. Set the lightweightThemes.usedThemes pref to make Firefox use the Persona images.

Thanks for the thought, but not that.

My current desktop wallpaper (what we called it in XP) is a spider doing a mating dance (i trained as a zoologist). Where can i find the file of that spider. It's probably something like Mozillaxxxxxx.bmp.

I want to rename the file and store it somewhere .bmp wallpaper files are stored and retrieved.

thanks

I save Desktop Background images to a folder named "Wallpaper" - rather than using the Save as Desktop Background ... feature in Firefox. Firefox only holds one image; when you save another the current image is deleted.

I like what you say. How do you save these to the Wallpaper file? W/Firefox, almost any photo anywhere -- right click and click on "Save as Desktop Background" and i've captured it .. but then of course i've gotta go off to a far corner of Firefox, rename the file and save it.

I've just been dropping my .bmp files into Windows. They then sort themselves out below the folders.
