Strange blank pop-up that superimposes all browsing functionality?

more options

I just recently upgraded Firefox from a link on AOL homepage. Perhaps this was a bugged link? This weird pop-up appears within seconds of launching Firefox, and totally blocks all functionality outside of it, similar to how the MS Outlook program is "blocked out" while an email is open. Any thoughts? Please reference screenshot.

Chosen solution

I think it is a problem with an AOL add-on. Could you try starting Firefox in its Safe Mode as a test, and also see whether it can be removed there?

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when launching Firefox.

If Firefox is running and you can access the menu: Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and give Firefox the OK to restart.

Both Scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).

Any difference?

Thanks for the links! I searched on here for about a half-hour and I couldn't get anything. After starting in safe mode, it appears the problem was that I have my home page set to Fox Tabs ( chrome://foxtab/content/homepage.html) Evidently the upgrade doesn't support that file path...

Works fine when I remove that homepage location.

EDIT: Additionally, reinstalling the Fox Tabs add-on seems to have fixed it as well! :-)
