How to minimize Firefox browser in Android Kit Kat 4.4.2 tablet?

more options

Want to minimize Firefox on my Android Kit Kat 4.4.2 tablet, but find no means to do so. Is there an app? Exactly, I want to open my email client while running Firefox like on my PC. Tried searching Google Play Store for an app, but didn't find one. thanks for helping.

Thanks. Will definitely poke around looking for that preference. I guess that about covers it. Thanks for your help. I'll mark this as solved.

Can't you press home icon to get to home screen.

Sorry, it didn't help. Here's an image of my home screen. I tapped and looked all around, but there's nothing there, or on the privacy page that can minimize. Click the tile below to get a closer look. I'm using Android Kit Kat 4.4.2 on an off-brand tablet "Call Winner" or "All Winner" (shows when it starts.) Model C2105 IMEI 352005 04 8247251, Hope that helps All else in Firefox works okay.

BTW I like your personal icon, I started with Netscape and as it changed, I never left.

Thanks!

Yeah, I used netscape back in the days.... and mozilla ever since.

I was talking about the home button of your tablet, it could be a physical button or it could be a software button. Does your tablet have one?

Pic below is how it may look like.

Yes, I do have a software button. Exactly right, I press the home button. It closes Firefox, rather than minimizes it. I realize something, though. The RAM in a tablet is far less than a PC, that's probably why it can't run more than one app at a time. So it can't minimize, like I'm used to. What do you think?

It's possible, but its a bit weird.

Android has some sort of memory management service in the background and will close app when it needs memory.

However, if you only have firefox open, pressing home button shouldn't close it, since it can not possibly occupy that much memory.

One thing though, can you poke around in the android system settings? I vaguely remember a setting in android that will limit the app to one at a time. Maybe that was checked in your tablet?
