New "Firefox Search" thing, how can I disable it?

more options

With my current settings, this ring appears 50 ms after I press "Home" button and makes my tablet lag for 1-3 sec every time. This way I can't do anything for that lag time, my cursor is locked inside that ring and the screen doesn't react to my touches. How can I disable it, or where can I find an older .apk file to downgrade my firefox so there is no such ring. I deleted/disabled all apps that make something appear on this ring, so now there is only "Firefox Search" on this ring.

Hi EthereanOne

There is no way to disable the Search widget once you download FF35 for Android.

There is the following workaround however:

1. you can set it to use Google Search or some other non Firefox search widget

If you do file a bug as Ererer suggested please post a reply with a link to the bug.

Cheers!

No info on disabling this thing there too

Hello. If you would like, you can download an older version of Firefox (34) that doesn't have the search issue. Note: on older versions of Firefox, there may be security issues and performance flaws, so it isn't recommended.

And sorry for the issue that you are having. To get more help, or to notify the Mozilla Devs about this issue, file this "bug" (kind of) to bugzilla. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
