The "options" button does not open when clicked so that I can enable Java when I want to, etc.? The "options" button just quit working.

Chosen solution

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar.

Java, however, is in the about:config page.

Type about:config<Enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. This is where Firefox finds information it needs to run. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type Java

WARNING ! ! If you don't know what you are doing . . . . . . . . .STOP ! ! !

Note: Java and Javascript are not the same thing.

BTW: why do you think Java is off?

Do you even have Java installed? Don't see it in your Installed Plugins listing.

I should have referenced Java script. I rebooted and now it seems to be working again.

"If you don't know what you are doing...." is probably an apt description.

Thanks for the answers.
