I got scammed by Mackeeper and they deleted all my bookmarks and history! Help!
I have a macbook pro retina 13 (2013) and downloaded Mackeeper hoping it would clean my computer... A technician went to my computer erased all my notes in the Notes app and my firefox content: history and bookmarks, and then left without saying anything. I dont have a back up of it and don't have a firefox profile neither. How can i get those data back?? Help!!

ps. i later did some researchs about mackeeper and found out that is a was a scam, a very huge scam! Don't ever download it.

HI ndaaunhi, I understand that losing Firefox profile data can be very frustrating, especially when you have had the same profile for a while. Unfortunately if there is no back up of the profile, it will not be possible to recover it.

Do you have any Time Machine backups that you can restore?
Have you filed a complaint? Contact the company?

Apparently is a really bad company and they have scammed a lot of people, but no one knows who is behind all this. Eventually, i have contacted the company by phone they say they can't do anything about it but refund me. I JUST NEED MY DATA! HELP! I don't think reporting them will get back my data, plus i'll get into trouble i think.

you're right but unfortunately i don't have any proves about it, i trusted them and didn't record their work or screenshot or anything, there was the chat session but they delete it themself, plus, they take monthly monet of your account without permission, omg i hope impatiently that one day they'll go to jail!!

They are scammers they are not responsible, what do you expect, they're not even answering my phone now...
