Although I'm using Linux I am not very knowledgeable with PCs so please do not give me very complicated instructions. Using the method under "Installing outside a package manager" on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux I put Firefox on my PC long ago, and I'd like to wipe it off and start anew. The uninstall support page says to delete the firefox folder in the home directory, but after doing that and using a fresh copy it still had my old settings so I suspect there are more files elsewhere.

Chosen solution

Nothing outside of the Profiles and program folder by default no. Apart from Cache on disk if you want to manually clean that instead of in Firefox. Type about:cache in Location (address) bar to see where your Cache is.

Sorry if I am bumping or something, but I forgot to mention I used the tar file.

The settings like your Bookmarks, Passwords, Cookies, history, Extensions, Themes and such are not in the Firefox program folder but in a Profile regardless whether Firefox is on Windows, Mac OSX or Linux.

Any Profiles you have for Firefox on Linux should by default be in ~/.mozilla/firefox/

Note that .mozilla means it is a hidden folder so make sure you can see hidden folders/files in your file manager.

Thanks, are there any more files related to Firefox?
