I suspect after recent firefox/mozilla upgrade my HP/PC cursor started to "hang/delay' unless cursor was clicked rapidly, after searching through self help (mozilla) problem was corrected. Now when open my firefox browser...which I love!!! (not too mention the several years of using another browser) firefox was recommended by a secure e-mail reagan.com Now I am asked if I want to allow firefox to make changes to my harddrive,,security settings have no effect on request.

Thank you!

Marc

That may be the update notification, and it sounds like you fixed it. Ah yes, I am happy to hear that you love Firefox. It sounds like the new problem is requesting to make changes to the hardrive. I have pasted a previous solution mentioned by corel below:

Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.

Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".

Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.

  1. Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
  2. "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected

Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

Thanks for the quick response...Yes the procedure eliminated the hard drive down load warning....but.....it brought back the dreaded "hanging cursor" when a web page would open. Granted rapidly hitting cursor would keep the loading in process eventually opening the page....needless to say ,reset the properties ,web pages load fast but hard drive warning is displayed .

Thanks again... I know a fix is right around the corner
