i just got a pop up that said i needed to update firefox it did not have your logo and it looked very suspicous did you send a message to me just now?

it had a mega phone on it and i didn't like what i seen i ignored it and it went off the screen ? What is this ? did you send this? i really do not think it was your company! please let me know what to look for,for a valid update request from firefox! REGARDS Beverly oh yeah this happened before and i automatically hit it and then i had to go back and reset firefox and chose my home page gain. it kept saying my page had been reset my guess is it was high jacked it even told me to contact microsoft and when i did they tried to get me to let them take over my computer when they tried it told me to not proceed as someone was trying to take over and they were not a authorized person so i hung up and got out of the site immediately and the guy even called my phone back and i proceeded to tell him to go to h--l and i hungup ! i just cannot believe the balls this idiots have and they think you are dumb enough to let them take over when it already topld me to get out of the site !!!!!!

The latest version is 33.0.3. It is always safer not to trust a dialog that pops up without your interaction.

Assuming your computer isn't infected with malware, a safe way to update is to go to:

  • Help (or New Fx Menu > Help-29) > About Firefox
