No matter what setting i have set in the Options window, when i exit and then start a new session in FF the previous one always pops up regardless of the setting. All i want is my homepage to pop up like normal. Its done this for about 2 weeks or so. Its soooooooooo annoying. Help.

hello codygreen13, in past questions similar to this issue that has been caused by a user.js file within the profile folder (which generally should only be present in case you have intentionally created it manually).

so please try the following: go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder", then a new window will open up. in this window look out for a file named user.js (it might be used to overwrite your custom settings). in case it is present , delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards.

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once pref to true.

Ok Phillipp, I looked for the user.js the only file in there beginning with user is strictly just a file called "user" it is a JScript file. Do i delete that one?

Cor-el, I had already tried browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once pref to true. It made no difference.

That pref should not be set to true unless you need to restart Firefox to make changes effective like installing an extension as setting this pref to true will always restore the previous session.

Windows hides some file extensions by default. Among them are .html and .ini and .js and .txt, so you may only see file name without file extension. You can see the real file type (file extension) in the properties of the file via the right-click context menu in Windows Explorer.

You can right-click the User (user.js) file and use open with to open the file in a text editor (Notepad) to inspect its content.
