I can't open websites like zulily.com and walmart or even verizon because I get a message that says the websites does not supply identity information and it is not encrypted. What do I do? I ran a virus scan and other various scans on my computer. I updated everything including your browser. and still nothing!

Do you mean you can't use the non-secure version:

http://www.zulily.com/

Or that you can't use the secure version:

https://www.zulily.com/auth/

If you get an error on the secure version, could you copy/paste the Technical Details section of the error page into a reply so we can see the specific explanation for it?

Note: Most websites don't supply identity information: unless you see the green lock, indicating an Extended Validation SSL certificate, Firefox will say that the site's identity is not proven. I wouldn't worry about that unless you are used to seeing the green lock and it's suddenly not there.

This solves part of my problem. When I click on a link from my email to go to a site like walmart I get the following error.

The requested URL /browse/cell-phones/apple-iphone/1105910_1127173 was not found on this server.

and when I am on my verizon account and I try to use a link in their website I get this error

The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

For the requested URL not being found, I'm not sure why that would be the case, unless it was a very short-term link that has expired for some reason.

When you get the "will never complete" message, a common reason is that cookies are blocked or corrupted, causing the server to loop between two or more pages. Based on your system information, I don't think they would be completely blocked. So my general suggestion would be:

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
