Why doesn't Firefox know that I type in Canadian English? (Chrome does)

I'm getting red underlines on my Canadian spelling within Firefox, but not on Chrome

I don't remember ever having to set anything up manually on Chrome (maybe I did but Chrome just did a better job of qualifying me...)

Why is this? Is this because I downloaded a US version of Firefox?

May I suggest, that it seems that the FF download page could identify that I am visiting the site from Canada, and offer me the appropriate version of the software.

Thanks! :)

PS - Next related question is, how do I set up FF for Canadian English? I'll start a new thread for that...

hello, there is no dedicated canadian version of the browser - you can install a canadian spell-checking dictionary though at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/language-tools/

Thanks I will give it a try

Maybe FF can learn from Chrome on however their achieved "baked in" Canadian language? I would prefer this over having to use an add-on

But perhaps they have already looked at Chrome's treatment, and decided that it was too much work, or too much bloat, or something?

PS - While this very well be the best answer currently (and I marked it as "Helpful"), I'm not going to mark it as answered, because I am seeking a different answer than a third party add-on... I can wait! :)
