First: explain to people coming here that the limited text possible in the opening screen is not the actual question text, but a title. Mozilla generally (and it is a problem in my mind) assumes more than a common user will know when trying to find or post something relating to your products. Generally poor user interfaces. After entering my information, and going to the next step: what on earth are the options you provide supposed to do? Come on; get a non-expert to vet these things that you present to users so simple everyday English speakers can see what you mean!.

After installing October patch Tuesday files (not identified as faulty, from extensive research on the web), my screen is unacceptably jerky and delayed when I scroll on the page or enter text.

I have installed the latest AMD graphics drivers/software. I have looked for things that may interfere. My last test was to copy the url for this site in Firefox to IE. No problems with IE.

Ergo, there is a Firefox problem. Whatever the cause.

Please try to find a solution.

Hello,

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.

You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform these steps:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options
  2. In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the Advanced tab, then select General.
  3. In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
  4. Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Yes. If fixed it. Thanks.

A note. The sequence of things above are confusing and do not provide a clear path to saying this fixed it.
