How can I get my PDFs to show up as anything but the Firefox html icon?

more options

I need the old format where the contents of the first page of the PDF showed up as its icon instead of the Firefox icon. Now they all look alike, which really slows down my work production! I now have to read every title to find the PDF I want! Also, the option of being able to pick a picture from inside the PDF as the cover would be even better! This would expedite work tremendously when retrieving PDFs. Is there an add-on or a program I can download that will give me this option? Either way, please help me clear away the little blue and orange foxes all over my folders which really slow me down, besides defeating the entire purpose by accidentally dumping them into the trash! I really prefer Firefox as a browser and do not want to be forced to make a change in order to remedy the issue. I have downloaded at least 6 PDF add-ons and they all create PDFs in Firefox HTML. I have also made changes in Options-Applications which did not remedy the problem either. Thank you for your help!

sorry i don't know any way to increase font size than to zoom the whole document - since PDFs are primarily made to maintain their formatting there may be no way around this (the font size commenting section in preferences might refer to comments added by yourself)...

the bar on the right should be gone when you click on "tools" above it.

hello, does it work when you go into the acrobat reader > edit > preferences > general & click on the default application option at the bottom? in there reselect adobe's application and confirm this selection...

Thank you so very much!!!! I got my little pictures back! I have some additional problems though, and I am hoping you can help with that too. I finally located the folder where the PDF is downloaded and fixed that. But upon opening the PDF, I found that the size of the font is very tiny, much smaller than 8. In order to read it I must enlarge the whole thing which enlarges any pictures way too much. Under Commenting in Preferences, I increased the font to 18 because that is the only place I located the word "font" and it actually made the font even smaller. Do you have any suggestions to fix font size in the PDF (I am slightly sight impaired)? Plus, I need to close the side that says "Export PDF Files" where I can convert them to Word or Excel. I am using Primo for making PDFs because it is available under Print in my File menu. Using Primo gave me the largest fonts. I tried several of the Add-ons and the fonts were worse than Primo. Thank you again for your help! MaryAnn
