every fourth or fifth time I am following a link I am being redirected to a commercial site. It seems to be tied into this site. http://11163943.id.clickprotects.com I have run Malewarebytes but come up clean. I have cleared my Cache and cookies. My list of extensions seem good. I have restarted Firefox with all of them disabled. What should my next step be? I cant find anything about the clickprotects site if it is a virus. Its driving me crazy. Thanks for any help

What is the content of the landing page -- a specific ad? crappy search links?

Could you check your Firefox connection setting in the Options dialog here:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button

The default of "Use system proxy settings" should piggyback on your Windows/IE "LAN" settings, but you also could try "No proxy" to see whether that works any better.

Earlier this year, some users reported getting redirected to an unexpected page, which seemed to be caused by one of the images in the page not being available. A program from "Spigot" was responsible. You might check the the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program for anything from that publisher.

I also suggest as a cross check clicking the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in uncovering undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible there.

The landing page are commercial sites of varying products. Its as if the redirect link is making money by sending traffic to these sites. The sites themselves aren't malicious (I hope)

The network default was set to use system proxy. I tried the No proxy setting and had great hope as i tried many links but alas it still redirected me. the site I ended up at was this:

http://www.personalizationmall.com/Default.aspx?did=78054&utm_source=7search&utm_medium=cpc

one of many that I have landed on.

Very frusrtating

Could you check your history for some examples of pages that are getting redirected? That might help in detecting a pattern to the problem.

Meanwhile, please do check the Windows Control Panel for anything unexpected.
