Most of the time when I open up Gmail, it crashes shortly after loading the hangouts window, and the crash reporter opens up. I have an image but don't know how to post.

I tried restarting with Add-ons disabled, with no luck. What is going on and what can I do to fix it?

Looks like a problem with GStreamer. See if there are updates available for GStreamer libraries.

You can also try to disable GStreamer as a test by toggling this pref to false.

  • about:config page: media.gstreamer.enabled = false

Thank you, disabling GStreamer worked great. How important is it, or can I just permanately leave it off?

Thanks again

Firefox uses GStreamer to play MP3 and H.264 media files with the built-in HTML5 media player. With GStreamer disabled Firefox will fallback is possible to a plugin (Gecko Media player or VLC) or external program that can handle these files or you would have to paste the URL of the file in such an external player.
