Hello, I have enabled the Thunderbird dark mode. My expectation was that all messages in the message list are displayed in white on a dark background.

Unfortunately, the message list often uses a black font on a dark background.

I changed the color in the message pane using settings --> Colour

I followed the instructions/workarounds here for using dark theme, including reset and troubleshoot mode. https://support.mozilla.org/sv/questions/1439922

But it did not help. Maybe you guys can help.

Yesterday I had a problem controlling the Thunderbird layout. In a powerful demonstration of Murphy's Law, posting a detailed description here and waiting 24 hours seems to have made the problem go away.

As the subject says, I'm trying to get Discord links to open in the Discord desktop app instead of a Firefox tab. The 'Applications' section of my Firefox settings that has the settings to handle 'mailto' and 'magnet' links in external apps doesn't have any setting for Discord links for me to change, and I can't figure out how to add one.

Hi, I just switched from windows 10 to Windows 11. On windows 10 once you position the picture in picture once it appears in that position every time time you start up a new picture in picture. In Windows 11 the picture in picture doggedly appears in the same position necessitating moving it to your preferred position every time.

I am running Windows 11 with an RTX4080 super on two 4K screens set to Nvidia surround mode with the latest driver. The picture in picture always positions about 20 pixels into the left (main) screen. I then move it to the 10,10 position on the right screen. I expect the next time I start a picture in picture that it will appear at the 10,10 position on the right screen. Instead it appears in the old position on the left screen, forcing me to move it every time.

The current version of Firefox remembers the size of the picture in picture when I resize it. But is does not remember the x,y position on the picture in picture once it is resized over a certain size.

Is there a setting in about that sets the position of the picture in picture?

I use PC Thunderbird to handle my business emails (Hostinger) - it's great, love it!

Just installed new android app on samsung phone and tablet. Receives emails fine but cannot send any. I've double checked settings are the same - server name , port, SSL/TLS

I've tried turning off VPN. Any ideas please?

Hi. Websites suddenly are too zoomed in and I didn't change anything - not intentionally. The zoom function works but fully zoomed out is too big. This is only in Firefox and not the other browsers.

Hello Recently I’ve been unable to use PayPal links when attempting to check out from any retail website while using FireFox for iOS. When I click the “PayPal” option in the cart it opens a new tab but nothing happens and the tab and browser bar in the new tab reads “about:blank” This did not used to be a problem. This problem has occurred with any retail site I’ve attempted to check out of recently. My browser is up to date and I’ve already tried clearing my entire browsing history as well as uninstalling and reinstalling FireFox. I’ve reviewed every setting I can find and the other (older) articles I’ve found about this issue reference the desktop version and selecting options such as “Advanced” which aren’t present in the iOS version. Hopefully you can provide some ideas. Thanks!

That the common advice. Never works for me. If it was actually going to work, wouldn't it be when you originally create the bookmark?.

Having these favicons saves time, makes you workflow easier. Am I correct that the problem is with the given website making it available?

I'm running Thunderbird 128.5.1esr (64 bit) on Macos 14.5. The Window menu in Thunderbird (at the top between Tools and Help) displays a list of open messages. I believe it used to list the messages' titles in the list. Not now. Now all it lists is "Mozilla Thunderbird" for each open message. No way to distinguish which message is listed. I tried Troubleshoot Mode... with no effect.

Is there a setting that I need to change to restore what I believe is the old behavior?

Thunderbird android just installed, would love to use instead of current Outlook client. Long email threads showing as unacceptably indented, down to one letter per line some cases. Occurs TB android but less so Outlook android, and TB desktop. One workaround is to view emails as plain text on TB desktop, they then wrap beautifully. Any plans to allow plain text render on TB android? Or any idea how to view badly indented emails so they fill the pane? Thank you for the good work!

hi,after the installation of a theme in my tb nebula, i see it above, but all my mails, all tb , have a black underground.i tried a few others themes , and its always the black underground. Why does a theme interfere in the background? how can i install a theme that i can see only above, without making the background?

I have two Outlook addresses which appear identical in their settings. One address receives and sends mail perfectly. The other receives no mail in its Inbox, does receive mail in Junk and can send mail perfectly. I have repaired the Inbox folder, compared settings with the account which works but can see no difference. The machine is a Windows 11 laptop and the problem has been ongoing for the past year. TB is currently running version 128. Any idea where I have gone wrong?

With the release of Firefox 133, I switched from the add-on Tree-sized tabs to the newly implemented Vertical tabs, and so far I really like the feature. Although, I was wondering if there was a way to reduce the width of the expanded sidebar? Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

Hello all, I was wondering if there is any reason why Thunderbird is reminding me like every other day of the "quick archiver" feature. In the general settings I have the "Thunderbird start page" disabled on launch but I still get the tab regularly informing me of the "new" feature. It annoys and I would like to turn it off. Any ideas? Many thanks! spamalot
