Back in September, 2024, Microsoft Outlook no longer accepted my long-used login information via Thunderbird. I could still log in to https://outlook.live.com/owa/?realm=hotmail.com from the Firefox browser. I tried adjusting Account Settings (e.g. Server Name, Server Type [POP], Security/Authentication, etc. to no avail. I downloaded the current version of Thunderbird (128?) and tried installing per directions found here. Tried using the Flatpak path. The direct Command Line path yielded the same result.

I've done a backup and moved to lesser machine which works but it is slow and I want to get back to the original configuration. Now I'm accumulating saved emails on this backup machine while prior emails are saved on the original machine. I'll want to merge them when the login problem is resolved.

I installed Thunderbird from the internet and it was pretty seamless, but I don't think I correctly responded about contacts, because everything from my 2012 macbook seemed to transfer but the address book is empty and I have tried many ways of transferring unsuccessfully, and my apple mail won't let me import its addressbook.

If I uninstall the program and reinstall it again, will it work if I answer yes to the contact question?

When I try to access my email via Mozilla's inbox it says that the password is failing. I have tried to create a new password but no emails are able to come in or get sent. I would like assistance in account recovery as I have had the account for at least 20 yrs it is thunderbird not mozilla

I am using T-Bird 128.5.1esr 64-bit on Win 11, but this problem has existed for a while. Nothing will be displayed if I have the folder checked to show all mail. See screenshot. This is occurring in several folders, not all folders. Unread mail will display. I have tried repairing the folders.

I have the Thunderbird folder from the Macbook which contains install and profiles ini files and Crash Reports, Profiles and Pending Pings.

I have made several attempts to move all the files and folders over but it doesn't matter whether I move them before I install Thunderbird or after I've installed Thunderbird and before I launch the program but every time I get invited to open a new account; I've even tried opening a new account and then moving the files.

I've searched the Forum and other websites but cannot find anyone reporting or rectifying such a problem.

What am I doing wrong?

I just entered the code you sent for the password for Thunderbird; but, I cannot log in on my pc using my accepted hotmail password. I get message stating: user name jfreeman0843@hotmail.com failed. Please help. Thank you.

I've been using Thunderbird for years with multiple google accounts on both Windows and Linux machines, no issues. On my main Windows computer one of the accounts started asking for authorization on a regular basis 2-3 months ago. I deleted the account, hoping to fix the issue, but when trying to add it back, I am stuck with this persistent issue:

- I get to the stage Mozilla Thunderbird Email wants to access your google account.
- When I click Allow, instead of finishing the setup, it brings another popup window: Authentication required - Mozilla Thunderbird.
- No matter what I enter there (full gmail address, just the gmail name etc), it's not accepted, and the same window pops up again and again.

I tried to reinstall Thunderbird a couple of times, and also deleted all files inside C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Thunderbird and C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird . No change.

The issue affects only this particular computer, only this particular gmail account. All other gmail accounts work fine on this computer, and on my other computers (Linux and Widnows ones) all gmail accounts work fine, including the one which I am struggling with on the first computer.

There seems to be some caching going one which cannot be defeated by uninstalling Thunderbird and deleting the two C:\Users\xxx\AppData\*\Thunderbird folders. Where else can it be stored? Could it be Windows registry file?

It seems that ever since my Thunderbird auto-updated to 128.5.1, sending messages with attachments is VERY slow. I just sent a client an email with a 6.9 MB attachment and it took over 2 minutes to send. A few weeks ago, that would have gotten sent in seconds. I tried cleaning out my Inbox and Sent box by moving most of the messages to local folders, but no change. Any thoughts? Anyone else having this issue?

The HTML isn't displaying properly here. Is there a setting to do this in the threaded view?

Also, is there a setting to be able to click on these "threaded" snippets to expand them to the whole message? Thanks!

I am trying to set up a shared calendar that all the employees in my office can access and add to on their own computers, but I am having trouble doing so. Ideally, I would like this on our network to be easily used. At some point, we will also need to be able to access it on our cell phones. How do we do this?

When I attempt to add a Gmail account, I get this error - "Unable to login at server. Probably wrong configuration, username, or password"

Below are the steps with screenshots: - checked for no cookies to prevent Google from asking for an actual login - no stored google passwords - didn't put in my password on setup - TB finds the available configuration - prompted to login at google - add google password - allow access - error message

I have restarted Thunderbird. I have checked for updates (even though I have it on auto-update).

Are there settings on my Google or Gmail account that could prevent this from working?

Hi iam using thunderbird for sooooo many years maybe 15 i dont remember. BUT lately it makes me crazy. If i am trying to fing some email i am using search area in the top of the app. And it will find nothing. Even if i know there is email from person who i am searching for. I will type just few letters or half od the email name and it will find nothning. To be able to find email i have to go online google mail web and search over there.

Why is it like this?

I have tried to install Thunderbird multiple times on my Windows 11 PC. Everytime I try to import my Outlook files it locks up at 33%. How can i resolve this issue? Thank you.

I am experiencing a significant slowdown in email synchronization in Thunderbird. Emails take a noticeably long time to appear after clicking, and the overall syncing process is extremely slow across all folders.

The problem began on Friday, December 6th, following my use of the "Repair" button on the Inbox (8.9GB) and Sent (10.7GB) folders. After initiating the repair for the Sent folder, synchronization across all folders (Inbox, Sent, Spam, etc.) slowed down considerably.

Already done: Checked "All Mail" on Google IMAP: The folder does not appear in IMAP. Troubleshoot Mode: Attempted, but it did not resolve the issue. Reinstalled Thunderbird: Uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird on my Mac, but the problem persists.

The issue seems isolated to Thunderbird and does not impact my Mac’s overall performance, memory usage, or speed. The synchronization delay affects only Thunderbird, while other applications function normally. I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to resolve this issue and restore normal synchronization performance.

my old laptop SSD crashed and I had to re-install Thunderbird. It took a few days to do so, in this time I switched from Windows 10 to Linux Mint.

After an import of a (luckily fresh) backup into the new Thunderbird installation, it don't receive messages between 02. December 2024 and 10. December 2024. I can find them via Webmailer (strato.de), but if I click on "Receive new mails" in Thunderbird, there are "no new messages" in its oppinion.

But it is possible to send me a new Mail to the given address, that will be received immediatly.

What can I do to get these E-Mails of the given date range?
