With Lockwise support ended, I went to change my password management on my IPhone & IPad to Firefox, but I see that using Firefox for passwords requires my device has a passcode, where using Lockwise, it did NOT. Is there any way to use Firefox for passwords without that restriction? I've no desire to set a passcode on my devices, and I'd think it should be up to ME to determine what level of risk I'm comfortable with.

Thank you.

Firefox Lockwise: Nicknames for saved Logins and Passwords

Has anyone ever suggested that Firefox Lockwise users would be super happy if we could use nicknames for our saved logins and passwords? As it is now, I must search by the https:/ website address to get to the desired place I want to go. Oftentimes, the actual https:/ address bears little resemblance to the site I want to go to. For example, I am a frequent donor to some small non-profit organizations. These organizations utilize 3rd party internet services to process online giving. These websites' addresses never match the name of the organization who is the ultimate recipient of my donation. The processor's website is not meaningful to me at all, but the non-profit organization is! It takes me a lot of time and extra steps to figure out and remember what website is connected to the organization I want to give to. If I could search withing Firefox Lockwise by a nickname matching the meaningful name of the place I want to go, I sure could save a lot of time! Think you guys could add this feature?

So, after Lockwise will be shut down very, very soon, what will happen with the possibility to use lockwise for logging in on different pages and apps? This will not be possible anymore? I can use Firefox, there my passwords will work, but if I am on a homepage that does not support Firefox (these are more and more, a growing number of pages) or an app, then I cannot use Firefox to get the password, as it was possible with Lockwise. I can just use the passwords (that are also saved in Firefox), copy-paste the login&pw and switch several times between the apps???? No! Firefox will not integrate Llockwise, nor will Firefox work like Lockwise was working. Lockwise will be shut down, and there will be no other app that can do this. Firefox is a browser and not a password app. Why is it not possible to say that Mozilla? Why can't you be honest at Mozilla and say it as it is? Lockwise will be shut down, and we are sorry there will be no more password apps! Firefox will not substitute nor will be able to do what Lockwise was designed for. f.

Hi,

A few weeks ago I lost my lockwise credentials (around 20 or more). Fortunately I remembered the most one and were able to login. But I really lost more than 7 ones anyway. And this is not something to make fun about.

How can I troubleshoot the root cause of this happening for the next time? And What is a proper way to find it again? Or Can I save passwords outside the "Lockwise"?

Edit: maybe I messed something up by myself with configuration profile. I did not assume my browser stored it in a json file, which could be the reason they were suddenly gone everywhere, apparently. If thats the case, I do not worry, but one should make this sure.

Regards, Lajos

Hi,

according to haveibeenpwned.com one of my passwords has been exposed in a data breach. Just recently, the key manager on my iPad sent me a notification about this. For some reason Firefox Lockwise (running on a laptop) doesn't give me any notification even when loggin in with this password although alerts are enabled in the settings. Do I have to manually inititate the check?

Thanks,

Stefan

To all whom these presents may come, Greetings,

I'm Frank (take it as you will) and I have been a strong advocate and user of Mozilla products nearly from your beginnings. I was EXTREMELY pleased when the decision was made to launch Lockwise as another feature for the Firefox suite of products and utilities. The fact that all of these wonderful product are also open source fill my heart with an indescribable sense of joy!

I do not write to all of you often, as I very infrequently have an issue which requires involving support for any of the Mozilla products I use regularly. I am writing to you today to offer a suggestion for the addition of a feature to Lockwise: The ability to nest login credentials into groups that make the most sense for the user.

I think an example would be beneficial: I have, and regularly use my Open Exchange ID to log into websites that support the use of Open ID. This has resulted in a number of entries in Lockwise that share this in common. What would be of great benefit to me (any many other users as well), would be the ability to create and name an empty folder which all of these related logins could be nested together.

Now, I can't imagine this far into the project this type of feature hasn't been suggested before. My surmise then, it that a feature such as this hasn't been requested frequently enough to be moved up on the developer's 'to-do' list. Let me therefore add my voice as another advocate for the addition of a nesting feature such as I've described here.

Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback! Of course I would be very interested in hearing back from someone from Mozilla about the addition of such a feature to Lockwise.

With my respect and very best regards to all,

Frank M Waterman, Renaissance Man and The PC Medic.

I've been patiently using Lockwise as my password manager despite its hobbled experience. So every time I create a new account while on my mobile and I'm asked to create a password, I go to my other password manager (eWallet), re-use a card to generate a password, then save the password to my notes app and hope to remember to copy that to Lockwise later when I'm at my computer.

For the love of god, please just add the feature to create logins and generate passwords in Lockwise while on mobile.
