How can I get a current version of Firefox that is intended for persons not involved in an enterprise?
Ever since my Firefox application was updated to 96, the application has become unstable. The only way I can load it is be typing Firefox =P on my terminal, and picking a profile. The usual approach produces a response that "Firefox" can't find my profile. After attempting to fix this for two days, my links, logins, bookmarks, are available sometimes or never.
The 96 version was a big mistake and never should have been installed on my computer, which is no connection to an "enterprise".
How can I recover a stable non-enterprise related version of Firefox?

You should be able to download a version from the software app in your distro that should work perfectly fine.
After starting Firefox through the external Profile Manager, can you try the following:
Internal Profile Manager Page
Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.
This page should list at least one profile and could list many. (Each profile has two folders and one or more buttons. Do not use any Remove buttons!)
The profile that Firefox is currently using will have this:
This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted.
If that profile has a button labeled Set as default profile, go ahead and click that so Firefox uses it automatically at the next startup.
Does that resolve the startup error?
The problem is Firefox 96. Before the update to 96, Firefox worked. Now it is chancy. Why is there not a Firefox version not tied to enterprises and run by system administrators that don't exist.

I am beginning to think that Firefox is restricting its client to enterprises.
I have been working with both the external and internal file managers. I have three profiles in place, but restoring the application 96 functionality does not appear possible.
Why are you referring to Firefox 96 as an enterprise version? There is not a separate enterprise/non-enterprise version of Firefox 96. Are you getting a message about your organization managing your Firefox settings? That can indicate that other software dropped a control file onto your hard drive. However, to track down what is going on, it would be helpful if you could explain what you're seeing.

Thank you for the information, and I read the post you mentioned. I am trying to work with Mint to solve my problem.
I still say that Mozilla decision to conspire with Google is a bad sign. Mint's complicity in this is disappointing. Perhaps it is time to look for a new os also.

Firefox 96.0.1 is the current Release on www.mozilla.org https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release
The closest thing Mozilla has for Enterprise users in mind is the ESR or Extended Support Release channel which is currently at Fx 91.5.0 esr.

So Mint chose to use Google as the default to help make income. Besides you do not have to use Google as the default as you can easily change it to Ecosia or DuckDuckGo or whatever you want.

Mozilla actually tried to get away from using Google as the default in many locales of their Firefox builds as for a short time in was Yahoo for the locales that had Google as the default. Yahoo was completely removed as one of the default search engines since Firefox 57.0 and later Releases.
