I opened my account tonight and it was empty, as tho it was a new account.
I opened my TBird account tonight and to my shock, there was nothing there. Please see screenshot #1.
I filled in my email and password and my account did open but it was all stripped. Every extension was gone. All settings I had, gone. My folders appear to all be there but it's hard to tell.
Why would this happen?
I do have a backup of the profile folder, but I don't know how to use that to get my stuff back.
I would appreciate some help with this, please.

Perhaps you could explain what you had before, what you did, and why. In any case, this all sounds just normal when starting with a new profile.

I did absolutely nothing prior to this happening. That's why it's so puzzling and frustrating. I am the only one who uses this computer. We have no kids in the house. It was fine when I shut it down the night before and when I booted it up last evening to check email, I had no email. That's exactly what happened and I have not left anything out.
I've redone everything now, but have bookmarked your link in case this happens again. The one thing I apparently didn't do was backup my contacts individually so that I could import them so that's going to be a chore.
I hope this isn't going to happen again!

That kind of makes sense to me. Since I have everything recreated now I haven't taken the time to read clear through this link, but I have saved it and will do that. Thank you very much for this input.
Address Books are .mab files. See if you can find those and move them to your new profile.
