When I click on any link in Outlook 2007 and I choose Firefox as the browser choice (WIN10 Home v1803 64-bit), nothing happens. However if I choose any other installed browser (IE11, Opera v53.0, or Microsoft Edge 42.17134.1.0), the link opens in all of the other browsers.

Hi, separate security issue, please update your Flash 28.0.0.126 Flash Player Version: 29.0.0.171 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Note : there is a lot of your Video Card files for your NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 are in the Windows Repository, please search for Device Manager and check your if your Driver has been replaced by a Microsoft Driver. https://www.howtogeek.com/302595/how-to-stop-windows-10-from-automatically-updating-hardware-drivers/

Please check for Win10 updates, Settings --> Update & Security

In beta releases of WIn 10 1803 they did disable Firefox from opening Outlook Files/links/URL's. You can check with a Windows 10 help forum : https://www.tenforums.com/

Please check in Settings --> Apps --> Default Apps --> Web Browser if Firefox is set as Default. If Not Click and pick it from the list.

If it is, pick Edge and make it default, then click again and make Firefox Default.

Also. do this to check if NoScript is the issue : SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

Wow, thank you for your detailed response. I'm digging in to your suggestions one by one and I will get back to you as soon as I am able to. I have done some of the easy stuff - updated java, updated Flash in safe mode, have downloaded video driver from Nvidia - I agree that there seem to be a lot of video files - will report back when I reinstall the Nvidia drivers. Thanks a lot - much appreciated.

Issue still exists after changing defaults and removing video files.

Back again...well, I seem to have opened up a can of worms with my Video card. You were correct about the video issues, I used CCleaner and removed over a gig of extra video files. However, now I can't seem to actually update my video drivers- I keep getting "NVIDIA Installer cannot continue. This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware", and after using DDU, Windows update keeps loading a driver from last year, and refuses to accept any further update. Soooo, I'll be back to work on this later, since I have a lot of things left to do after your detailed response above, but I'm going to need to focus on the video issue first - will probably re-install/refresh the system after reseating the card, and resetting the BIOS . Again, thanks.
