Dear support team Thank you for the work you are doing

After the update some of my preferences were changed:

Search engines like Google, Yahoo and Ebay we added and Google was the default search engine.
When opening a new Tab it showed suggestions last uses web pages and more.
Can I avoid this from happening again with the next update. Taking into account that Google stores a lot of information
about the search, I consider this a security risk and would prefer that the search engines are not changed without my
      knowledge

While I was able to fix the problems above I was not able to fix the following problem. I like to print to a PDF file instead to a printer directly. Up to yesterday the web browser was remembering the last filename and location where to save it. This is especially helpful if you save a multiple websites in a subdirectory that is deep in the directory tree and all filenames have similar names. I tried to find this settings in the <about:config> file but did not find a setting that fixed the problem. I use multiple computers with different accounts and it takes some time to change the setting with all accounts.

Thanks for your support.

Malware can cause search engines to change.

Firefox had a Contract with Yahoo to make their browser 1st. Ended Contract, now back to Google. This pays some bills. Since is a Non-Profit.

Sometimes code being corrupted in a update or a power failure or crash can can cause the change.

Please understand it is up to you to control what search engine is displayed and to ask questions if feel the need to to fix issues.

Changing code in about:config is not recommended especially when you can not say what you changed in your message as no idea on this end what would help not across x different browsers.

Save to PDF Print to PDF Copy Paste the above into search bar : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/extensions/ 1 search at a time.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Keep in mind that Ubuntu modifies its version as offered via the repositories and this can also cause unexpected behavior.

You can disable the new Activity Stream design and revert to the earlier design by setting this pref to false.

  • browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled

For the home page you can disable the new Activity Stream design by setting this pref to false on the about:config page.

  • browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.aboutHome.enabled = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
