Hi Terrysutt, if you are visiting YouTube in Firefox 75, that message seems very suspicious because YouTube supports all modern browsers.

Is it possible it was an overlay ad within the video player? Those usually have a little x button in the upper right corner to close them. Advertisers don't always tell the truth. ;-)

If it's outside the video, one way that random content might get injected into a page is through an add-on. You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).

Any improvement?

Thanks for your reply,I had two extensions regarding youtube, Enhancer for youtube and Youtube high definition.I disabled these and everything now seems to be working ok.I didn`t delete them in case they were not the cause of the problem.

Hello Terrysutt,

You inadvertently marked your own post as Chosen Solution instead of jscher2000's post ....

You can rectify it by clicking on the "Undo" button to the right of your post and then click on the "Solved the problem" button to the right of jscher2000's post.

Thank you in advance !

Hi Terrysutt, about this:

I think since your reply actually names the culprits, it makes sense to keep that as the solution in this case.
