Cannot delete items added to cart on patioslingsite.com using Firefox. Works ok using Google and Microsoft Edge browers. Using latest Firefox update on my Windows 10 OS and tried a few setting changes in Firefox without resolve. Is there a particular setting that needs to be changed or is there something else going on?

This is the second time in 4 months I've had this issue. The first time I resolved it by clearing my cache. That isn't working this time. I've looked at the help articles and clearing the cache is there. This is where I found it the first time. Any ideas?

Since the latest update to 106.0.2 "check for updates" runs non-stop until I disconnect from my vpn (ExpressVPN for Windows 7). I can reconnect my vpy but after a short while I cannot open other tabs or windows. I get the message "server not found".

What is going on? You have a fix for this?

I have used FF for years but his might make me switch.

Firefox version 122.0 Mac: Sonoma 14.1.1 apple silicon

The problem emerged about a little over a year ago (around September 2022). It started with an installation of firefox on another machine running BigSur, and I guess the problem got ported when I restored a time machine backup on this current machine. I attempted to troubleshoot the issue by following mozilla support and reddit threads but to no avail. I, at the time, settled on monthly time machine backups, but now finally decided to address it properly.

Troubleshooting steps that I have followed:

• going into the about:config page and changing the places.history.expiration.max_pages and places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages to 2147483647 then to 999999 after reading about how a value too high might be ignored (both values didn't seem to change anything)
• going into the about:config page and changing the places.history.expiration.transient_optimal_database_size to 85534800
• removing the add-on/extension manager as seeing that it might remove history for some reason (from a [thread] by IceTemple)
• In the privacy and security tab, history is set to Firefox will use custom settings for history

Things I suspect might be the problem:

• I originally used the Chinese version of firefox (downloaded from the .cn website) and reinstalled the international version (from .com) after getting annoyed by the built-in ads. For convenience sake, I ported the profile folder over which might have carry the problem over. That being said, I don't think this problem existed when I just started using firefox but appeared awhile later.
• result of an update, don't know which though
• certain extensions (I haven't went through them individually since I installed a lot)

My questions:

1. How to stop Firefox from doing this ever again?
2. Alternatives of storing history if nothing works
3. Why did my troubleshooting steps not work? Is there something wrong with my version of firefox that prevented the about:config changes from working?
4. If I have to resort to backing up the places.sqlite history file, how do I restore/reintegrate them with current history file?

Whenever I open a new tab, I start typing into the search bar at the top of my screen. The problem is, every time I open a new tab, I am on google (which I have no problem with); and when I go to type whatever I need to type into the search bar at the top of my screen, the URL from google stays there. So, for instance, if I open a new tab and try to go to Youtube by typing www.youtube.com into my searchbar and then hitting enter, I end up searching www.youtube.comhttps://www.google.com/ instead of just www.youtube.com. I've tried finding somewhere in settings where I can change this, but I can't find anything.

I have already sent you the exact information that depicts what is happening! What I got back from you is question after question trying to figure out what the problem is! Pages of absolute junk that have nothing to do with my problem! What does it take to get through to you people?! You sent me a reply that asks me a question: "Does it work if you allow to go to the HTTP version of the website as in some cases a redirect only works via HTTP and you will eventually end up on a secure HTTPS site?"...but your email is unable to be replied to and you offer no way to tell you my answer! If I am reading your question right, the answer is "YES".

I was able to figure out how to get your system to upload the error image and it is here within. The snip says it pertains to a website called "Western Journal", but I have gotten the error message on other sites as well. I repeat, from my original missive, although it claims to only be able to go to a non-HTTPS site, when I choose to go to that site, it shows in the address box, "HTTPS". Have I been hacked? In 25 years of using a computer, I have never seen this error message that seems to contradict itself. Please help and let me reply to you emails. Recently, Firefox cannot establish a secure connection to any financial sites I frequently visit. This includes Wells Fargo, Citibank, Synchronicity, and Fidelity. I don't need help reading what a secure connection failure notice means. I've read it ad there is no help for how to solve it, except to contact the website owner. Since this effects all financial sites I've tried, I don't see how the sites could be the problem or it would be a massive problem and I would be able to find solutions via google search.

The problem is about 1 to 2 weeks old.

I have cleared my browser cookies and cache, as much as i hate to do that, because all my saved other site log-ins are wiped. But I've done it. I'm on the latest version of Firefox. I've turned off my Norton Firewall.

I also cannot connect via Chrome, or Edge. Edge just loaded a second authentication page for Wells Fargo asking my to verify my identity, but the page is blank except for the page name and the company logo. Same thing just happened in the Firefox browser. I can't verify my identity because the page doesn't contain the method to verify. It's blank.

I've also tried requiring SSL in Firefox for all sites.

I'm not finding anything on the web about Norton security creating this problem recently either.

Firefox. LinuxMint 21.3 Cinnamon 6.0.4 , Google Mail Compose, Pressing and holding the arrow key moves the cursor one character at a time. Google Chrome works fine.

PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR how do I get rid of this error that keeps popping up when I attempt to launch Amazon.com I have never had this happen before..... it just started about a week ago.

How do I delete, remove, or otherwise disable that garbage "review checker" from the latest firefox update. It's useless, un-needed thing that I don't trust.

option to OPT out REMOVE/DELETE or completely DISABLE!

Firefox often display messages at the lower right corners - only from selected sites.

It drives my crazy - because I have to click on each and ervy one.

How can I select the sites which are displayed or can I shut them off all together ?!?

I am fed up with this problem enough that I had to come here to complain and hopefully find out what the issue is. Every time I start Firefox, it will spend five minutes or longer before it starts to load a web page! All I will see is blank white tabs with the hourglass icon until at some point many minutes later it decides to begin loading the pages.

I've tried different connection settings (No Proxy, System Settings, Auto-Detect, etc.) and that doesn't do jack. Neither does flushing my DNS, or trying to go to a site I've never visited.

Just now, as I was sitting here waiting for the effing browser to detect the connection, I even tried unplugging my Ethernet cable and it didn't realize there was no connection available for several minutes! This is extremely annoying.

I'm using Firefox 100.0.1 on Windows 7, but I've been dealing with issue for several releases, I want to say since at least pre-FF95. I have VPNs installed and their service processes run in the background but I don't use them. Also they don't affect the connectivity of anything else.

Hi, To start exporting Firefox Password Data to a file, the "Login data of the Windows User Account" has to be entered (pls. refer to attachment). What is meant by "Windows User Account"? Thanks so much for your help. Hans - presently in Munich, Bavaria, Germany

PS: I'm using the German Version of Firefox - so I translated back to English.
