My rig: MacMini 2018. Macosx 13 Ventura. Safari browser.

Safari can export an HTML file for bookmarks and a CSV file for passwords. I saved them to my desktop. Trying every way I can in Firefox, FFox won't accept these file extensions. What is it looking for?

What am I missing? Seems to be no 2024 routine for this online. I'm probably in dark about something obvious.

I have struggled off an on for about a year since getting an M-series Mac with Firefox and memory load. This is an issue that I did not struggle with with the same RAM-Specc'd Intel alternative. I have received multiple out of memory errors the longer Firefox would run. I have done full clean installs of my machine (not restoring anything from backup) and gone so far as to up replacing the machine (though not for this specific issue only) that had double the RAM (32GB vs 16GB). I haven't yet begun to receive out of memory errors on this new machine, but I see the day coming.

I believe this is directly related to the number of tabs open, like they must not go to sleep. My concern is that with firefox running, over time (like a day or two) Firefox ends up consuming a little more than 10GB of RAM (peak observed so far). Quitting and reopening Firefox brings me down to 2.5-3 on the same tab count for a couple days.

My addons are all up to date, and I only have two (Firefox Multi-Account Containers, and NordPass for password management). I've removed Nord for troubleshooting purposes with no effect. I have changed to various versions and variations of firefox (meaning beta versions and the developer variation of the browser).

I have also used another browser entirely (MS Edge) for an extended amount of time with basically the same environment open. For comparison, same tabs, same amount of time open Edge uses 3GB RAM and upon restart jumps to 5GG Ram but settles back down to 3.

I am wanting to stay with Firefox. It's multi-container setup is the best there is (that I know of). I hate the idea of moving to another browser.

TL;DR Issue: High Memory usage on Apple Silicon (Firefox using just over 10GB RAM after a couple days)

steps taken: Computer has been reinstalled multiple times Computer has been replaced (move from 16GB to 36GB) Browser reinstalled with various versions and variations. Add-ons have been updated and also removed.

Reference Intel Macbook with 16GB RAM in my workflow did not have this issue a single time over many years.

Desire Looking to reign in Firefox's memory usage so I don't have to move to another browser (Edge has proven to hold at 3GB under the same workflow).

I have Firefox 126.0.1 installed yet get a notification daily asking me to install the latest update When I down load the "latest update" I get Firefox 126.0.1 ! How can I stop this annoyance? Thank you John

Up until a month ago, I was able to download gifs from the giphy.com as actual GIFs. What has changed in Firefox and how can I troubleshoot this so I can get the desired file format of GIF?

I started using Firefox on my Macbook after only having used it on my Razer for awhile. On my Razer (so far) I've had no (new) issues with Dark Mode, but on my Macbook, the Firefox browser is always in dark mode when I search Google. It does not impact other sites (not even this one, where I'm typing this, or any of the other pages where I've looked for a fix). I have had this issue consistently with Firefox across mobile, my Razer, my old Windows computer, my Macbook, and everywhere I want to use it. In the past, changing the theme, going into the config settings (which I hate doing and am trying to avoid this time around), or using the Firefox Color custom themes have worked. I even checked my Google settings, and Dark Mode is completely disabled for search. So I know it's a Firefox issue.

Is there a permanent, consistent solution to just completely disable dark mode? I am never going to want to use it, and I am tired of having to go through some version of this every time I try to use Firefox on Mac -- especially since this time none of my normal workarounds are actually working.

I'd eat nails before using Chrome, but I am extremely frustrated.

Hey there, long story short - nowadays it's crucial to support those who WFH, and most people use G Suit for company work. I personally have a few daily calls via Google Meet and having the TAB sharing feature available is highly appreciated. I know this was requested a lot, but this is a real dealbreaker for many people.

What are your thoughts on this? Maybe it's somewhere in the roadmap already? Thanks!

after downloading and installing v.126 of firefox, my history has disappeared. the browser is not generating new history from web site visits. the history is fixed permanently on a single web address. this is the web address of a site that is in my toolbar. this site cannot be deleted from the history. this site cannot be deleted through the preferences menu. the same site shows in the history file as the only site visited in the past several months, even though i have not visited that site in the past several months. the browser does not show my browsing history. the browser does not create a browsing history. my history function is permanently broken.

help?

when I sign into Goog/setting/2 step, the page does not show "app passwords." I've turned off my ad-blocker extensions and pop-up blocker on the page. See attached.

Firefox does not allow website to access my location even though I keep allowing the website to access my location. I select the allow button and also did this both with and without the box checked to remember the decision. I also go into Settings - Privacy & Security - Location settings. I allow there. Nothing helps.

Hi, I've recently downloaded firefox and trying to add extensions that were similar to the ones I used on chrome. My problem is that all the extensions (Hoverzoom, Short Keys) in the extensions tab in the toolbar and appear to not be working (both in private and normal browsing). However the extensions (Ublock, SponsorBlock) that have their own icon on the toolbar seem to be working fine.

Upgrade my desktop Firefox browser to version 126.0.1 a few days ago.

Since then, I'm having all kinds of probs logging in to social media sites.

The biggest prob is with X. I've tried to inquire about this situation with X support. I'm being told that my account is good and I should not be having log-in probs. When I explain that I'm being given an authentication challenge that is not allowing me in - despite the fact that the challenge is cleared - I'm told that I should consider my browser privacy settings.

Nothing has changed with this since my last log-ins except the upgrade for Firefox.

Please advise regarding this inquiry: is there something new in the privacy issues with this new upgrade? And how can this issue be resolved?

i updated my browser and now everything is gone, my extentions wont open as its in "safe mode", none of my browsing history is saved anymore. should I delete firefox and reinstall it?

When i scroll up and down on a page, it instead provides the back-page instead of scrolling up and down on the website. this is for all websites. the scroll function works oroperly in system settings, it is only with firefox. autoscrolling is enabled in settings.

After update to 126.0.1 I cant access two of the four windows that are open. They are still listed under the Window toolbar option but clicking on them reveals nothing, as if hidden except they are not in the Mac toolbar. Not sure if this is a new feature or glitch, any help would be great, the two windows I can't currently access contain alot of tabs I need.

Hello! My name is Anya. I am desperately trying to manage my social media addiction and to help support that I am wondering if its possible to disable the privacy window. I know I can install a website blocker - which I have, but it does not apply to the private window so I have full access to social media on it, I just have to log in. I want to COMPLETELY block Facebook and Instagram off of my laptop. Is this possible? Thank you!

After restarting Firefox i found I've lost all History and Bookmarks.

I'm on a MAC, I'm not sure to do at this point, I had atleast 10 years of bookmarks!
