Internet not working through browser.
Hi. I have a Dell Inspiron, it’s a few years old, and my computer is running windows. Today I was on a website, doing my assignments as usual when randomly the internet stopped working on the browser (I was on the web for about an hour before this). There was no change to my behavior, I had been on the same site for the whole hour, and had been interacting with the site during that time. My computer still says it’s connected to the internet, and I was even able to play an online game on my computer that I had downloaded, so it looks like my computer is connected to the internet. I’ve tried to clear my cache and open private windows but that didn’t help.

Here are some ways to troubleshoot : Refresh/Restart Firefox: Toggle Troubleshoot Mode (Help > Troubleshoot Mode) to see if extensions are causing issues. If not, try a Firefox Refresh to reset settings.
Disable DNS over HTTPS: Go to Settings, search for "DNS," and disable DNS over HTTPS, which can cause connection issues on older systems.
Disable Hardware Acceleration: Go to Settings > General, scroll to Performance, uncheck "Use recommended performance settings," and disable "Use hardware acceleration when available".
Clear Cache and Cookies: Clear browser data to fix corrupted cache files causing connection timeouts.
Update Network Drivers: On old laptops, outdated network adapter drivers often cause intermittent drops. Update them via Windows Device Manager.
Manage Resources: If RAM is low, Firefox may fail to connect. Close other programs or use an extension to suspend unused tabs

I tested with
https://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/ This hangs after a couple of seconds, and I am unable to get any interaction with it.
https://www.prestomusic.com This drops out and reconnects constantly while playing music.
The favicons for the link tabs have disappeared from nearly all the tabs.
These defects are all very new. Google shows none of them
