I fixed this with @outlook.com email accounts (or any microsoft account ie hotmail.com... live.com) by turning on "IMAP" in the web setting page.
Click the settings "cog" > Mail > Forwarding and IMAP
scroll to the bottom
Under POP and IMAP - toggle on POP or IMAP depending on how you want to connect
