Display size since latest update on January 14th
My firefox automatically updated on January 14th. Since the update, it opens with the tool bar above/off the screen, the left side off the screen, and it doesn't allow me to scroll. If I go the the firefox icon at the bottom of the screen and click close window, I can sometimes get it to re-open normally and then leave it open for the balance of the day. I am running windows 11. My wife and I are have the same issue right after the update. Is there a fix on the way or a setting I can change to fix this.
Not as important but I want to get away from all things google. Right now my firefox is tied to a gmail account. To be void of google, do I need to completely take firefox off my computer and re-install with a new email account or can I transfer the account to a new email?
Appreciate your time Thanks so much for your help.
Tom

Hi Tom!
It sounds like you’re dealing with some frustrating display issues since the update. Here are a few steps you can try to get Firefox working properly:
Fixing the Display Issue
Reset Window Position: Right-click the Firefox icon in the taskbar and select Move (or use Alt + Space and then choose Move). Use the arrow keys or your mouse to reposition the window back on-screen. Check for Display Scaling or Resolution Settings:
Go to Settings on your computer, then System > Display. Make sure the scaling and resolution settings are appropriate for your monitor (100% scaling is typically recommended).
Disable Hardware Acceleration in Firefox: Go to the menu (three lines), choose Settings, scroll to General, and under Performance, uncheck Use recommended performance settings and Use hardware acceleration when available. Refresh Firefox:
If the issue persists, try refreshing Firefox. Go to Help > More Troubleshooting Information, then click Refresh Firefox.
Unlink Google You don’t need to reinstall Firefox to change your account! Here’s what you can do:
- Switch to a New Email for Your Firefox Account:
- Sign in to your Firefox account at accounts.firefox.com.
- Go to Manage Account, and you can add a new email or change your primary email.
Once your new email is set up, you can unlink your Google account while keeping all your Firefox settings and data.
Hope this helps! Let us know if anything else comes up!
