firefox not opening files with registered application
Firefox is forcing me to download a lot of temporary files instead of opening them in their native application, resulting in cluttering up my hard drive and making me unnecessarily having to clean up after the browser.
How can I fix this privacy invading feature?

You could change the following preference in about:config to true. It was introduced in version 102. browser.download.start_downloads_in_tmp_dir

Does not solve the issue of the browser not opening the item in the registered application.
