I can't get Firefox to show the bookmark editor. I thought i may have accidentally manually disabled it for new bookmarks, but when i tried to access it on an existing bookmark, it wouldn't come up. The star button still has an "Edit this bookmark (Ctrl+D)" tooltip, but does nothing when clicked. Ctrl+D does nothing further on an existing bookmark. I went into about:config, and the browser.bookmarks.editDialog.showForNewBookmarks option was set to true. I went ahead and toggled it off and on again to see if it would refresh or something, to no effect. Ultimately, i guess that's beside the point, as i can't even bring it up for existing bookmarks.Any suggestions, beside going in and manually shuffling each new bookmark into a folder from the library?

Nevermind. It fixed itself when Firefox crashed.

I will post here for anyone else searching:

Mac OS X cat 10.15.7, i experience the same thing, and what I found was that it only happens consistently when firefox is full screen.

If you click the star in full screen and get nothing, and exit full screen (green shrink arrow thing) you'll actually see the dialog box there that wasn't presenting in front of the main browser window.

Short fix for now - do star related bookmark management while not full screen, and return to full screen for browsing.

Also, this seems to only happen consistently when on an extended monitor through a dock, not on the native macbook pro 16" screen, so that's somehow contributing.

Can't attach a video here so see the progressive screenshot added - the 5th one show the dialog box that popped up when clicked but didn't display in full screen - that is mid exit from fullscreen.
