I have thoroughly searched and researched, but cannot get LinkedIn to load in Firefox. It will load in all other browsers from this computer (Opera, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Edge - but I prefer Firefox).

What happens: I go to https://www.linkedin.com/ and I get the LinkedIn logo (a blue box with the word 'In' in the center and a progress bar that reminds me of the old KIT car from Knight Rider.

The only exception to this is if I clear the history/cookies/cache. In this case I get the LinkedIn login screen. Once I log in I am prompted to enter the code texted to my phone, then I am back to KIT.

I have tried all of the suggestions posted on this site - from changing the MTU on my router (actually even replaced the router), changed prefetch options in about:config as well as the IPv6 settings.

I have also disabled all ForeFox extensions and plug-ins as well as switching Themes. I use AVG Internet Security, so I have disabled the firewalls, turned off my VPN (Tunnelbear) and run a deep system scan.

Through all of this the ONLY site I cannot seem to get into is LinkedIn.

Any other ideas? Thanks for your time and prompt replies.

Hiya Rex Critchlow, Sometimes, the answer is only a Hasselhoff away - Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both Cookies and the Cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.

To clear Cache and Cookies for a specific site, do the following:

1. Navigate to the site. 2. Click on the padlock icon at the left end of the address bar. 3. At the bottom select Clear Cookies and Site Data... 4. In the window that opens, click Remove.

If the page does not refresh automatically, click the Reload icon on your toolbar.

Thanks for the reply, but if you had read my complete post, you would have noticed that I had already done that and a lot more.

I don't mean to sound snarky or unappreciative...just frustrated.

P.S. The Hasslehoff thing was funny.

I understand your frustration and I hope that you understand that I have to begin somewhere. I apologize if I overlooked something in your post.

So, Let's get this thing fixed...

I'm going to visit the site and I'll be back with you in a minute or so.

I can visit the site with no problems. After everything that you've tried already, the only thing that I can suggest is to create a new Profile, but, that's just a workaround.

Let's elevate this, instead, and get some more folks involved.

Hello Rex Critchlow,

Would you please take a look at this article:

https://www.lifewire.com/linkedin-issues-4587968

Anything useful there ?

Maybe turn off Enhanced Tracking Protection for that site ? (the shield icon next to the padlock at the left side of the address bar)

Thanks for the info. I have tried all of the suggestions and read all of the articles. Still no luck.

I won't create a new profile - I have thousands of connections and don't want to go through THAT hassle again.

I'd appreciate this being escalated.

Thanks again. Stay healthy.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.

Tried that. Still not working. Next? :)

'Just saw somebody mention that the one thing you may not have tried, worked for them :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

Any luck ? (fingers crossed .... )

I read the article. It suggested that, before resetting Firefox, I should start Firefox in safe mode. This appears to be a temporary version of resetting. I tried this with no success.

Head hurting yet? Mine is. 8)

Hiya Rex, Safe Mode is a temporary "Reset". It temporarily disables all sorts of stuff. I suggest - and it's only a suggestion - that you create another Profile to be able to discern whether or not this is a Firefox problem - or 'think outside of the Fox'  :))

It's really easy. And it won't cost as much as a new KIT car -

Type (or paste) about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter. You will see at least one Profile which says: Profile: Default User (or default-release) - This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. That is the Profile with all of your data. Just above that, click Create A New Profile. A Profile Wizard will open. Go through the steps naming the Profile anything that you want, except Default User, of course. Below the new profile click Launch Profile In New Browser

In the first window, under Profile: Default User (or default-release), select Set As Default Profile. When you launch Firefox again, it will open your Default Profile. Close that window.

(The New Profile won't interfere with anything or use any resources. You can leave it if you ever want to Test something again, or, you can Remove it later.)

You never know. We might be able to upgrade you to Baywatch.
