cannot save newly created event in thunderbird 60 lightning app

Updated from TB54 to TB60. After opening the event tab entered text and selected start and end times. Did not touch other entry options. Tried to save by going with the cursor on the "save and close" tab. It will not save and neither does the event form can be closed. To remove the event requires closing Thunderbird. Would appreciate some help. Thank you, Manfred
